HQ clips are 1156x656 @ 30fps... (i'm at work, i think those numbers are correct)

if you make your project 1280x720, clips can be cropped up 10-12% bigger to fit your screen.  I don't know the crop-down % if your project is set at 640x360, but it will fit in there as well as the aspect ratio is still 16:9.

really, you shouldn't need to do anything any different than before.  The clips are the same ratio, just a little larger ...in a stupid way.

Crop up? You mean scale up I'm guessing?

Anyway, that is a really odd size, especially because now neither is divisible by 16... which isn't great if you want to work with it. I'd guess 1156x656 is slightly off since it's not 16:9 unless I'm doing the math wrong. Or you could always add padding to make it 1280:720.

    ya, cropping refers to removing unwanted border area of a clip/pic.  so i stand corrected.
    Hey, It was early in the AM; cut me some slack Cheesy

    1280:720.
    1280:720?  You mean 1280x720 I'm guessing? :dance:
    ------

    ANYWAYS, 1156x656 does fit perfectly in 16:9 aspect ratio with a motion UPSCALE of 12% in Premiere (set your value to 112-113% if in a 1280x720 project).

    For those who use 640x360 settings, the motion DOWNSCALE would be 43% in Premiere (set your value down to 57.0%) -- vegas uses the same principles.

    Tested it myself without a problem.

    1317x720p
    Wat... that's also not 16:9
    1317x720 is an aspect ratio of 439:240 i believe ...yikes!
    also Jerrel, make sure your fields are progressive scan as well, or it won't be 720progressive.

    this is a great learning curve for everyone.  these are some good questions and replies, guys.

    I know but like, I had to upscale it up to 720p from 656p (if that's correct) and still wanted to keep the ratio that It firstly provide (the 1152x656 one).

    Honestly, I don't understand most of this. I just want HQ clips to be fullscreen on YouTube (i.e. no bars on top/bottom or sides). I got LQ clips down, but HQ is the troublemaker.

    Yeah, essentially an uncompressed ratio is what I wrote down :/

    The upscaling must be weird, because 1156/16*9 =/= 656 (instead 650.25), so somewhere there are extra pixels.

    So yeah, anyone have a link to a clip, I want to play around with it. Have to fix the 360 first, then go from there (and wait for the fixed dlc).

    yeah, unfortunately there is a 1.5% (roughly) CROP out if you maintain a locked/preserved 16:9 aspect ratio.

    ie. you will crop out 1.5% on your height, if you scale your width with a locked/preserved aspect ratio (X/Y or W/H).  vice-versa for the height.

    It looks pretty clean scaled with no crop out (no aspect ratio preserved/unlocked), imo...

    1280x720 upscale settings:  (no video cropped out)
    all numbers are value settings for scaling.

    Width = 111.0  -/+ .5%
    Height = 112.5  -/+ .5%

    640x360 downscale settings: (no video cropped out)

    Width = 55.6%  -/+ .5%
    Height = 56.2%  -/+ .5%

    Blaaaa.... i didn't play with the clip for long, so my settings may be subject for change.  My brain hurts with all of this talk of cropping.... scaling.... width... height..... look what EA's fail did to us!  :ohno:
